Stefano Scarpetta

Director Employment, Labour & Social Affairs, OECD

The impact of geopolitics on labor markets and social policies is increasingly prominent, and Stefano Scarpetta is one of those helping to find solutions to these global challenges. As Director of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs at the OECD since 2013, he plays a key role in connecting social and economic issues to the world's geopolitical reality.

Scarpetta leads the OECD's work in the areas of labour markets, migration and gender equality, while representing the organization in international forums such as the G20 and G7. Previously, he held several key roles at the OECD and worked as a labor market advisor at the World Bank. He has published extensively in academic journals and holds a PhD in economics from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris.

Scarpetta's research has greatly influenced policy development in areas such as inequality, work inclusion and social protection - topics that are central in a world characterized by geopolitical tensions. He helps connect social and economic challenges to the global forces shaping the labor market, and his insights are crucial to developing sustainable solutions in the face of growing uncertainty. We warmly welcome Stefano Scarpetta as a speaker at the conference in March.
