As Director of Employment, Labour and Social Affairs at the OECD since 2013, he plays a key role in connecting social and economic issues to the world's geopolitical reality.

Scarpetta leads the OECD's work in the areas of labour markets, migration and gender equality, while representing the organization in international forums such as the G20 and G7. Previously, he held several key roles at the OECD and worked as a labor market advisor at the World Bank. He has published extensively in academic journals and holds a PhD in economics from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris.
