From 2011 to 2022, Øystein Olsen was the Governor of Norges Bank, a period characterized by major economic challenges and changes.

Olsen has been a key figure in shaping Norwegian economic policy, with over 30 years of experience in key positions in the Norwegian economy. This includes roles at Statistics Norway and the Ministry of Finance. As one of the architects of the fiscal rule and the inflation target, Olsen has played a key role in shaping the Norwegian economic framework. This makes him a valuable voice on topical issues such as monetary policy and the use of oil money.

Today, Olsen shares his expertise as an economist affiliated with the think tank Civita, where he continues to contribute to important discussions about Norway's economic future.
